The movie focuses on Vito Corleone, a feared Don and a reasonableÂ man from Corleone family. Don in Italian culture is like a noble man or someoneÂ who Â is Â respected by most people. While in mafioso culture Don Â is Â like a boss orÂ man Â that Â have Â right Â to Â command Â in Â criminal Â organization, Â or Â they Â called Â â€œLaÂ Famigliaâ€ (The Family). After Vito retires from family business his son MichaelÂ Corleone takes the control of family and wants to bring Corleone family Â stronger,Â more Â feared Â and Â become Â unbeatable. Â This Â is Â a Â story Â about Â an Â absolute Â power,Â money and man that control everything behind the scene like a puppet master.Â This study discusses about Â the strive for power as an approach Â that Â is usedÂ in Â the Â movie. Michael Â and Â Vito Â Corleone Â strive Â their Â power Â and Â inlfuence Â inÂ different way but Â they have Â the Â same goal. This Â study Â tries Â to Â reveal Â the Â reasonÂ why Â they Â do Â this Â and Â how Â the Â process Â of Â striving Â power Â according Â to Â strive Â forÂ power theory from Alfred Adler book Individual Psychology.
